Williams. The real story on how he gained his nickname is boring. I like the rationale that he slows time to achieve excellent blocks.oh, White....gotcha
which one is "time lord"? I keep hearing that referenced too. What are we in the MCU?

That’s what I’m hoping…if Tatum starts to light them up, this might not go seven games…C's played some excellent D in the 4th. W's force you to be perfect for all 24 seconds. The c's were able to do that in the 4th. They hung with the back ups for a long time in the 3rd and I think they were ready to defend in the 4th. It's all about the 1st pick and role. If you can defend that and stay attached, you can defend. If you lose Curry early, he hits a 3 or blows by you. The rest shoot it too well and too quick to recover by rotating.
Williams is much better than Theis on the pick and role. Horford was pretty good at times too. Once the C's adjusted to the quicker release of the W's shooters they looked better. W's don't drive to the hoop as well as Miami and are not as physical. C's just need to stay up on them and make them drive to score. Good to win a game where you are adjusting to a much different style.
Offensively the C's shot it very well. Horford looks like he waited his whole life for this. Brown shot really well. Tatum did not but is able to get to anywhere he wants on the floor. The C's did shoot well but they were wide open shots. Even White can shoot with no one around. A lot of that was because the W's don't seem to have an answer for Tatum without doubling. He could get 50 one night if he shoots well. The W's weren't able to force turnovers like Miami either. Smart played only 30 minutes and Timelord 24. Huge bonus to the C's there. Williams is hurt but played through it alright
Kerr will make adjustments. He is an excellent coach. I don't think that there are any cards for him to play offensively. They will do what they do, but defensively they can do better. C's seemed to wear them out some. 40-16 in the 4th. That is really odd for a home team to be on the losing end of. I suspect Kerr may try a bit more zone so the W's older players don't have to work as hard defensively.
What a change I have seen in basketball over the years. My first awareness of it was probably in around 1947 when George Mikan first appeared on the scene. He was the first big man and had a huge impact on the game. It was a more polite game back then and even through the Bill Russell era and the Lakers Show Time days it was still being played somewhat as originally intended, not the roughhouse style that has become popular more recently. Today's game incorporates elements of football, hockey, World Wrestling Foundation and rugby. It has become an ugly game with the distinction between charges and blocking microscopically thin and often wrong. Injuries are far more prevalent and why not-enormous men running into each other at top speed in their underwear with no more protection than a reinforced jock strap.
true story.Solid game from the Celtics…
