Those look good

If that is messed up, I can’t imagine what a good tie is likeTried to copy a fly from muskytown.com:

I messed up on the head - not exactly what I was aiming for.
Not sure if it will push enough waterIf that is messed up, I can’t imagine what a good tie is like. I’d be stoked with that.

It's a major bummer, his ties are so perfect. I wonder what the motivation for stopping posting here was?Well, Norms still posting on what's in your vise at wff.. I guess I was wrong!
It's a head scratcher, definatly more posts/day over here. It's a major bummer, his ties are so perfect. I wonder what the motivation for stopping posting here was?

ShitActually it looks like a Zoo Cougar.
And are you tying that up to fish in WA or are getting ready to come see me?
yeah, I'd either cut the head off and re-do or if there's room, throw a dubbed head in front of that. Unless you're not looking to push quite as much water and have it be more of a glide vs. jerk action.Tried to copy a fly from muskytown.com:

Do they still make Larva Lace? Micro and/or Midge sizes would work good here.I really like the concept here, but this needs improvement. I ordered some jelly cord from amazon in .7mm. This diameter is likely fine for larger flies, but too big for this size. I have .3mm and .4mm on the way now. Anyways, the idea is to add gills and have a nice segmented body. I really like the looks, but this one is a little steep (i.e. I took it too far up/down the hook shank), body too thick as mentioned, and the gills turned out a little messy.
I've also tried this with latex, bug flesh, and a synthetic quill. The latex actually turned out really nice, but would be better for a clinger nymph...body gets to thick. I do like that you can make it two toned thpugh, by coloring the top of the body with sharpies. Bug flesh initially looks awesome, but is also too thick, and it's kind of "slippery", so the gills move around a bit and end up getting kind of sucked back under so they are barely visible. The synthetic quill is great, but needs to be costed in UV resin for durability and to kind of magnify the segmentation of the body. Problem there is the resin inevitably ends up in the gills, and makes then both stiff and clumpy.
So, I'm hoping the smaller diameter jelly cord is what I'm looking for...
Here is the swimming nymph with the .7mm jelly cord. Looks kind of like a scorpion...if the smaller diameter jelly cord works I might call this "scorpion style".

I'll try and post examples of the other body materials I used sometime today.
