What's in your vise?

yeah, I'd either cut the head off and re-do or if there's room, throw a dubbed head in front of that. Unless you're not looking to push quite as much water and have it be more of a glide vs. jerk action.

Did you use the backside of the bucktail for the head there? I've found myself using that more and more because it's so hollow and flairs so well, it's great to add that bulk underneath my dubbed heads. I'm not good enough of a tyer to make good heads that behave as intended with just the bucktail.

I love using the backside of some of the brighter colors. It gives a really nice subtle pop...

Do they still make Larva Lace? Micro and/or Midge sizes would work good here.

They do still make larva lace. However, I believe the size (midge) is actually hollow, or tubing. I could be totally wrong on that. I am looking for something solid. When you stretch tubing it ends up becoming double walled ribbon (lays flat). That wouldn't be the worst thing, and I think you are right, it would work well. But, I am looking for something round, solid, and clear. I actually want to be able to manipulate the body color with the thread and gill material color. I appreciate the suggestion!

Similar to the Spruce Moth I tied a while back; a bit too much thorax (could have extended the abdomen forward more) and for my eyes I need an indicator but overall it’s okay.

A couple more SRC/rezzie streamers.

The olive/white one has a small bead behind the eye for weight/jiggy action and to help flair the materials.

The one with the chartreuse head has a foam disk behind the eye for similar reasons. Hoping fished with a type 3 or 5 it might help provide some up and down action.

Made entirely from petrochemical byproducts; easiest of the lot to tie. Rear feelers superfluous; just for giggles.

Vinyl d rib might be just what you want. Cross section is that of a capital D, so it lays nicely along the shank, but is rounded. It’s stretchy, clear, and comes in a variety of diameters.

I think UTC even sells spools of the stuff.
