AKA - I’m Running Out of Stuff I Need To Tie Muddler. Bare spool showing on the Nano Silk, about 4” of the opal tinsel, maybe 1’ of the wire, and 4 more #6 hooks (the one I like for the bigger cutts I find on the east slope rivers).

hook - WFC Model 6 #6
thread - SemperFli Nano Silk 30d black
tag - medium tinsel opal
rib - small wire silver
body - hare’s ear dyed dun
hackle - grizzly
shoulder - pheasant rump
collar/head - deer hair

Scott

It occurs to me now that it's similar to those long, skinny barracuda flies.
I can see how with slight modifications it could be used as a rockfish and lingcod fly, as well as many other applications . It's one of those universal shapes that works in a,lot of places, like a wooly bugger.

Ummmmm the hackles tho?? What?? And from whom???
Finatics fly co. Grizzly schlappen. They are kinda small packs with probably 60% of good feathers, but the colors they have are pretty rad.

A dremel tool to smooth the back end and cup the face, 3/0 B10S, add some legs (the foam helps level the heavy-hooked rear so it pops better) and hope bass are really lenient art critics for the finished product.
