I have been a fly fisherman for about 50 years. I am game for catching any and all species - freshwater, warmwater, saltwater.
I am willing to travel long distances for solitude while fishing, but only by roadtrip. My work life wore out my tolerance for air travel, and I no longer board planes to reach recreational destinations. There are enough great fishing spots in the PNW that it feels like staying within a 16 hour drive or less actually offers more than the old days when I would fly with my gear to Alaska or South America.
A little bit contradictory to my thirst for solitude I know, but I am also open to having a fishing partner or two along for the ride. My hunting dog frequently joins my fishing trips, and my rods frequently join my hunting trips.
Tight lines man!
