NBA Playoffs

C's with a big win.

Draymond Green is a dirty player. He went at Tatum's shoulder in game 1 and then last night this beauty:

Tatum's shoulder is clearly injured.

The real issue is that the referee's refuse to call fouls on him. The play above is a foul. Plain and simple. He holds help defenders when he is away from the ball all of the time. He tackles players behind the play, lays on players etc. The referees just need to call the fouls. He would be out of the game in 10 possessions. It's a shame because otherwise the W's are a skilled bunch.

C's have a ton of length and can jump at the shooters and switch every screen. When Williams is out there, the defense is difficult to overcome.

Nice hook by Tatum.

totally agree that he's a dirty player but the above video is one of the least dirty plays in the entire game. If you think that was dirty, then certainly you must think that Horford landing on Steph's foot was equally dirty because he knows that his ankles are fragile (neither were).

I disagree. I see what Horford did as a bad play but one that takes place in a very fast paced game. He was not trying to hurt Curry. Green has multiple times gone at that shoulder. I saw it in game 1. I don't have tape but it was obvious that he went at it in an off the ball situation.

The play above is pre-meditated. He knows that Tatum's right shoulder is weak. There is no reason to grab it and tear it back. The ball is in the freeking hoop. He is just trying to injure. It's not in any way a basketball play. He knows what he is doing. He is intentionally trying to injure Tatum's weak shoulder. It was not the first time that I have seen. It just so happens that someone cared to post the tape.

There's no difference in the two plays. neither are dirty. In the box-out/hook by Tatum, Green is trying to swim around to get better position for a potential rebound. The fact that Tatum has an injured shoulder is just as irrelevant as the fact that Curry has fragile ankles.

How can anyone infer intent to injure based on the video showed? I sure can't. But there are plenty of other plays that were far more questionable than the one used to illustrate a dirty act.

Then again, I'm not looking at it through a biased lens.

Now, let's talk about something we can all agree that truly never happens in todays NBA, like traveling & palming....

I'm just hoping for a good game tonight...

The play in the video above isn't dirty its just unsportsmanlike.

Dickish play....kinda like Dennis Rodman style.

It amazes me that people give him the benefit of the doubt. I was yelling at the screen game 1 when he went at the shoulder in another off the ball, non-basketball play. He does what he does. People don't really like to acknowledge it. The quickest way around Tatum's weak right arm is to push it down and move forward. Grabbing the shoulder and ripping on a made shot, is what it is. The ball is in the hoop when he rips it back. you may note how aggressively the box out happens on the other side of the floor.

As far as carrying and travelling goes, the thing that I like about Curry most is that when he is going right he bounces the ball up and down, which gets him into his shooting motion off the dribble. It does seem like in recent years they have allowed the step back travel to go uncalled.

It's a difficult game to referee. Probably the hardest sport to referee. I don't envy those ref's.

I'll disagree until the cows come home on that particular play. I'm not really trying to convince you otherwise, but I do think I can look at it through a non-biased lens as neither team are my favorite, I just happened to pick the Dubs to win because of their shooting, which we're seeing outside of Steph, just isn't there for the most part.

regarding travelling, etc....it does always crack me up when they call it. shuffling one's feet constitutes a travel, sometimes...but taking 5 steps on the step-back is ok nearly every time (or 6 steps on the "euro-step" is ok).

I grew up hating the Celtics more than any other professional sports team, certainly not biased for them … but Draymond gets away with absolute murder. Even the announcers were making this point last game. He’s expected to play rough and the refs give him leeway because of it. He has good court vision and passing and defense, and can’t disrespect his hound-dog defense, but IMO he pushes the limits of dirty / unsportsmanlike play a bit far, to the detriment of the game.

I wasn't sure what to think about this series. But I've decided to choose the Warriors as my favorite over the Celtics. My rationale is that Charles Sullivan is a big fan of all the Bean Town teams. The Bean Town teams win a disproportionate share of championships. So I'm rooting for the Warriors, hoping that Sullivan won't be gloating after the last game. This series isn't about the Celtics or the Warriors. It's about Sullivan.

Well done, my man.
It troubles me thinking that there are 4 year old children out there who have never seen a Boston team win a title. I mean, "What about the children!"

You can play hard and hustle, you can be annoying with your antics, and you can be dirty. DG likely does all three though the last one is pretty hard to prove and the middle one all depends on your opinion. It's hard to tell what's in a persons mind and heart during play. My opinion is DG relishes his role and plays as close to the line (with some obviously thinking he regularly crosses over it) as he can. Like fishing open waters for a closed species, it is very hard to prove intent and dirty play. I think it is pretty funny when his wife calls out the C fans for profanity when her own husband uses it regularly in interviews and on the court.

I'm glad Sullivan and the Simpsons are thinking of the children.

Looking forward to the game tonight.

It's not like Green does not have a history of trying to hurt the opposition and disguising it as a basketball play:

Big game tonight. If the Cs win its pretty much over. If the Dubs win they retake homecourt advantage. Quite the swing.

Be nice to see some mid-range game from the Ws. They are so used to either hoisting quick 3s or driving all the way to the hoop and Boston has done a good job of taking both of those away. Wiggins aint no Durant but he does have a nice jumper. If he gets 20 from mid-range and that draws the bigs out a little bit I think they win. Be nice if Klay could build on his last game too(although I'm tired of watching him force a turnaround jumper that just isn't his game).

first year coach Udoka is doing hella of a job...outcoaching Kerr so far, who should have pulled Green in game 3 once it was obvious he was ineffective.
And real class act, Boston, chanting 'Fuck You Draymond' throughout the game with thousands of kids in attendence, nothing like setting a good role model for the kids at home...'fuck you, I ain't doing the dishes'...lol.
As to injuries, show me a team that isn't aware of who is injured on the other team and doesn't go right at them. Curry has had two ankle injuries this year, both times caused by Boston rolling over his legs. Is Curry complaining? Nope, cause he knows shit happens playing hoops, and rare is the player on the court during Finals not carrying injuries after a long season.

nice to see a close game finally...GS better hope they hold on or else it's a wrap...

Curry carried his team for much of the game and reminded us what kind of player he is. Cs had too many turnovers, allowed too many offensive boards, and relied too heavily on the 3 at the end.

Back to even, as it should be. Cs negated the Ws 3rd quarter run. Ws beat the Cs in the 4th run. Great game.

As much as Green is a nasty player, Smart is the biggest flopper I've seen. Its not dirty but boy is it pathetic.

We all deserve a game 7.
