Tungsten ant under a spruce moth produced one of the best afternoons of my life on a Rock Creek trip a few years ago. Great fly!I really like it also. Was gonna say the same thing
Nice. I'll be to rock creek either early June or early July.Tungsten ant under a spruce moth produced one of the best afternoons of my life on a Rock Creek trip a few years ago. Great fly!
My feeble attempt to kind of copy. Tried using Chinese pheasant for legs, not the ticket for me. Ended up doing dry hackle. Need to order more soft hackle and practice. Crazy I have so much fly tying shit and seems like I have nothing lol.
Black Ant

Edit- after some YouTube research on soft hackles, I was wrapping em wrong. Trying to do like dry fly hackle.
Next result was much better
Emerger pattern? Tails a bit long, but overall happy with soft hackle
(Obviously I'm new-ish to tying. Had a kit for 20 years, but not put in work)
