All right, since I couldn't convince my kid to be a motor for me, I kept it simple. Fur, feathers, flash (just a little). Honestly, I may fish this tomorrow on a sinking line just to see how it behaves....

Honestly it will probably be pretty killer on a sinking line. I’ve been fishing a swingin’ d lately and it moves so good (it has a foam diver head on it).

I actually have a few of those heads....went with the howitzer head on this one....I was looking for the largest size of those but was only able to precure a few of these (medium)

I've noticed lately that my simiseal "leech" ties for the lake

are taking the familiar shape of my favorite hare's ears for stream fishing. Actually building a collar with longer/darker fibers similar to an all fur nymph. Both sz. 10.

A week until streams open, but lots of water probably means more lake time with the leech. Might become a lake go to, but needs to stand the test of time like the hare's ear.

Thanks for the earlier reminder @Zak, James Wood Bucktail sz. 8 3xl. These worked last year and I'm soon to be spending a bit more time chasing spiny rays.

I’m enjoying tying these up.

A mop feather changer with 4x 10mm, 1x 15mm shanks and a 2/0 Kona BGH hook. I don’t typically “need” eyes but there’s a rattle buried in the head so I cured the head to be a little more jerk bait-y and at that point it was just begging for them. I may trim the tail more a bit. But I want to sleep on it.
