Trying a different head shape (not that the fish will notice).

thread - Uni 6/0 camel
egg sac - yarn chartreuse
rib - tying thread
body - deer hair
wing - Congo Hair shiner tan
shoulder - pheasant rump dyed olive
collar/head - deer hair

Regards,
Scott
I like the trim on the head
I’m guessing that’s why they call it a dished out
Maybe??

This one’s about the color, not the fly. A nod to the Bluths.

hook - WFC Model 3 #10
thread - Uni 8/0 fire orange
tag - Orvis saltwater fluoro orange/resin
rib - small wire copper
body - dubbing neon rust (2 Tsp Rit Golden Yellow, 1/2 Tsp Rit Neon Green/2 cups water)
body hackle - neon olive (2 Tsp Rit Golden Yellow, 1/8 Tsp Rit Neon Green/2 cups water)
shoulder - bleached pheasant rump dyed neon rust
collar - bleached aftershaft dyed neon rust (loop dubbed)

Was working my way towards brown (1/8 of a teaspoon at a time) when I hit this; need to get some ungulate in the dye bath before the wife returns from a few days away. As always, pics don’t do it justice.

A school of Pine Squirrel Buggers tied specifically to target big Gibbon River browns in the flooded meadows during runoff. The high, tea colored water is awash with leeches and worms. A recent brown caught was regurgitating large masses of earthworms and leeches as I brought it to hand. Leeches are a common sight in the shallow rivulets that feed the river in the meadows. The brightly colored, high contrast Pine Squirrel buggers seem to do the trick with a lot of consistency.

You’ve made a huuuuuge mistake

swimmy

An honest tune with a lingering lead
That’s some good stuff

Good looking fly

Thanks. Right now it is a marabou tail. Think I'm also going to try with schlappen just to give it a little more back end wiggle. The head is stacked deer so will probably fish it on my 8 wt/300 grain to help get it to bite in the riffle-runs.

Here are colors I have now:

Olive and burnt orange
Tan and yellow
white, brown, and yellow
grey white

I do like that it has nice bulk but not heavy at all.
