I like the Simi Seal Leech material and I have found that tying it just as John Rohmer does works best ie without using a dubbing loop. Great material.

Thanks Jack, I think I'd been twisting the material on a single tread too tight and not getting what I wanted, so I went to the loop method, but it sure is fiddly arranging the material the way I want. I'm going to follow this next time and see what I get.

Slowly getting the hang of some leeches. The dubbing loops and wraps are coming along a little better but I think I’m still heavy on the amount of material I’m using in the wraps.

No rhyme or reason to the colors at this point. Just playing around. Size 8 Hook and Arizona Semi Seal. Tungsten 5/32 beads.

Also did a big 1/8 oz jig for spinning gear. We’ll see if it fishes?

Just starting out so comments/critiques welcome.

Keep at it, you’re doing ok. Those will catch fish. It gets easier after the first 100 dozen.

always tweaking....I added several black saddle hackles onto the tail--thinner ones from a half saddle over the top of the Snowrunner (which wasn't quite long enough for what I was after). I also cut back on the upper dubbed head. I wet with omre of a streak that will rarely (if ever) be seen from below but will be readily visible for the angler from above.

With the flies I tie, I could tie 60 with that…
