An honest tune with a lingering lead
Is there anything more summer than July in SW Montana with Kenny Chesney playing Saturday night at Bobcat Stadium? Holy shit, I can't even believe I just typed that.
Fun fact, this is only the second concert ever held at our stadium. An estimated 25,000 folks will be in attendance. This will be one of the top 10 biggest concerts held in Montana (Pearl Jam at Grizz Stadium in Missoula is probably the biggest.)
Another fact, this will be the biggest gathering of hot chicks ever at a concert in Montana. Hot girls LOVE Kenny...almost as much as me. When I worked at the Gorge in the early 2000's Kenny came. He blew away the attendance record held by Dave Matthews. He also brought out some major talent. That was the most fun show I worked during the two years I was there.
I drove by campus yesterday and got a sneak peak. Damn, this stage is massive.
It took something like 25 rigs to haul in all of the gear. I stopped and talked to a couple of the drivers. First time in Montana and they loved it.
This show was supposed to happen two years ago but continued to get delayed with COVID. This is such a big deal for our little town. We just don't get a lot of big acts and everyone has been talking about it. Even folks who don't listen to country are stoked.
