I want to add another 9’ 6wt to my arsenal. Something that isn’t ultra fast and has a little feel and would be at home throwing large foam dries on a windy western freestone or tail water from a drift boat and could pull double duty with a streamer line. I have a 905 centric and am considering a...
Looking for:
6wt wulff ambush
7wt nymph taper line
7wt shooting heads (40 plus, titan, OBS) would consider type 3, intermediate but let me know what you have kicking around I might take it.
Could pick up around Arlington or Ballard or pay shipping. Thanks.
I’m camping with the fam there this week. Wondering if there any decent fishing options nearby. I’m open for anything. Trout, bass, carp etc. Not familiar with the area. I will have a 20’ sled at the marina if that helps.
Found this little guy cleaning up leaves and debris under a rhododendron just now. I’m in the stilly valley at about 650’ elevation, lots of trees and natural landscape. Never seen one of these and I can’t quite find a photo online of one that seems to match. Including tail, probably 3-3.5”...
The disheveled look of a vacation violating early alarm, no coffee, bags of 20 year old soft plastics strewn about the bow and most importantly, an inside out shirt, all contributed to the hot bite in downtown chelan this week.
I’m thinking about picking up a shorter 5wt for throwing larger dry flies and dry dropper rigs on western freestones. Any one have any favorites they enjoy casting? New or old. Thanks.
I’m staying at the Klamath RV and campground in Klamath, CA for 5 days mid august with my family and some friends and wondering if anyone can nudge me in the right direction for swinging some flies for California steel. From my limited googling, while early in the run it seems doable and being...
I’ve been given a lot of rods and reels from my grandfather over the last few years. Seems every time I go for a visit I come home with some new random tackle and some stories. This one stumps me and also stumped my grandpa a bit. Barely legible on the blank above the cork in thin black...
Picked up the 386 Redington classic trout, too good of a deal to pass up. Anyone have a line they feel really shines on this particular rod for fishing small to medium streams with dry flies and soft hackles? Open to any suggestions, thanks.
What are some of your favorites? Looking for some new ideas to add to my box. I’m a big time spider guy, whether reversed or the original, I fish them a ton. Would be cool to get a peek at some of your flies, whether a classic, or some new age high tech wizardry. I need some inspiration. Cheers.
I’m down here in NOLA for a bit, looking to fish at least once for reds with a guide. Any first hand recommendations before I book with Southern Fly and any intel on timing between the month of March or April? Thanks.
