No drag of any kind.. both pawls turned in still over runs with a slight pull, lost several fish on it because of backlash so I mostly quit using it.What’s wrong with it? I’ve got a salmon #1 that is great. How’s the #2 different?

Says the guy who’s currently in THE MIDDLE EASTNaw. I knew there would be a little smoke...I can take it. Mine is but one opinion among many.
I do enjoy the "try wet wading in xx creek" comments though.
I absolutely had that and the flying lure set back in the mid 90s. Both caught fish, but the flying lure was definitely the hawg slayer.Well it definitely wasn’t my beloved Banjo Minnow deluxe set complete with VHS.
I like high mtn lakes to fish in preferably from a flotation device and gear that i can possibly carry an hour perhapsProbably going to to ruffle some hackles with my choice.
Float tube. I used mine for a couple years before I saw the light. Never going back.
The main issue was moreso that the felt didn't go all the way to the edge, the was rubber around the entire bit of felt. So you'd still slip even if you had felt.
I know people say they're "done forever" with them... but I can say very confidently they REALLY turned it around. They're all I wear anymore.
That brings back memories of me staying up late nights as a kid just so I could watch the Flying Lure TV ad. Those underwater videos of that lure "flying" under the lily pads to the biggest bass in the pond had me mesmerized. I couldnt afford the TV special package but as soon as it hit store shelves...I begged my dad to buy me a set.I absolutely had that and the flying lure set back in the mid 90s. Oh yeah I see now how that could be. The pawls and springs are probably the same as on the Salmon #1, but the inertia of the giant spool on the #2 is too much.No drag of any kind.. both pawls turned in still over runs with a slight pull, lost several fish on it because of backlash so I mostly quit using it.
Most underrated comment on this thread.Well it definitely wasn’t my beloved Banjo Minnow deluxe set complete with VHS.
