NBA Playoffs

I don't have TNT or TBS...finally ditched the cable and went to FuboTV. I saw the NBA League Pass come up a month ago on an ad, offering the rest of the season and playoffs for $19.95, so I bit. Big Dubs fan since the mid-80's when my dad used to take me to games at the Oakland Colesium and Run TMC was rocking (later '80's).

When the games are on TNT or TBS, NBA League Pass offers the video, but there are no announcers, and you can watch from various different angles. Kind of weird...a couple of the angles focus on a single player, and you end up watching them sitting on the bench. They have a mosaic mode though, where your screen splits in 4 and you watch from 4 different angles. Weird at first, but once you know which screen to look at, when, it's not bad.

I was a huge Sonics fan when we moved up to Seattle...took a little to transition of course. Anyways, last night I watched the mosaic mode, and one screen kept focusing on "The Glove" towards the end of the Game, when GP Jr. was killing it. It was really awesome to see Gary there rooting for his son, and brought back great memories of watching the Sonics in the Arena formerly known as Key. I'm a Coug too, so having Klay on the team is great too. Hoping the Dubs can keep it going, and as others have mentioned, keep getting better with all the healthy pieces in place.

Totally agree Jokic is a bad ass player, he is really freaking good. I empathize with him when his season ended last night.

Anyways, Go Dubs!

Nikola Jokic (The Joker) is arguably the best player in the league and will likely win MVP again. The Warriors won't face anyone else near his caliber and size the rest of the way. Because of injuries all season the Warriors core has not played that many games together. They are starting to gel at the right time.
What about Giannis?

Simmons is just a head case.. He never shot a 3 ball. I guess that he didn't have the arm strength to score beyond the 3 line.

I would have liked NY City, whichever team, to get an NBA championship. I think they have been without one for too long as a place where basketball is sacred. However, I don’t like the players other than Durantula. He is such a baller.

The last thing I ever want is a New York team to win a championship in any sport. They call themselves the mecca of basketball, what a joke. Seattle's pro-am circuit is light years beyond what happens over there. I just cant stand the trope of "the league is better if LA/NY wins."

15th largest metro in the country, Seattle likely the site for the next expansion franchise...and have been rumours for the past year of the Thunder moving back to Seattle...4M vs 1.4M...should be a no brainer

I've kind of been a fan of Dallas ever since they signed Luca on as a teenager. I love watching him play when he's in the zone.
The series against Phoenix is going to be good. I kind of want Chris Paul to get a title, but will still be rooting for the Mavericks.

I like to see Giannis play more than any big man in the league. He goes to the hoop with devastating authority and punishes would-be defenders.

Now I see that Gonzaga's Human Flagpole-Chet Holmgren-is going to the NBA. He will have to put his massive 195# frame up against the likes of Joel Embiid, Jokic and Giannis, all of which outweigh him by at least 60 pounds. If ever a rail thin kid needed at least another year of college ball it is Holmgren. In the Holmgren vs Giannis contest I'm expecting broken bones.

Haven't paid much attention to the NBA since the Sonics left, but I too would kinda like to see CP3 earn a ring. I've always enjoyed his game. His 14-14 fg performance the other day was pretty bad ass.

As a very casual follower of basketball I find the Ben Simmons situation to be sickeningly fascinating. That dude is something else

It is a great city. The Big East tourney used to be the best. Now it's just Catholic schools. It's still college hoops in MSG though.
Hoops and baseball are big in the NE in ways that they will never be here. OTOH, college football just does not matter there. Every place has their thing.

Remember the 1985 draft lottery, where the Knicks just happened (purely by chance  ) to secure the number one pick so they could draft Patrick Ewing?

And with every conceivable advantage in their favor, advantages that continue to this day, they couldnt get it done and that makes me super happy

Disappointing 1st game from the Celtics…they fell too much in love with the 3 point line…need to get back to stingy defense and driving into the lane to get fouls…Bucks are scary even without Middleton…

I'm probably in the minority of being a big Jimmy Butler fan. I used to be just a Bulls fan but when he left, I basically just started rooting for whoever he played with. I dunno, I like his grit and making the most of his limited offensive game. Seems like the perfect fit with Pat Riley. It doesn't hurt that he was best buds with one of favorite Broncos, the late (and great) Demaryius Thomas.

All of that said, I wouldn't be terribly upset if CP3 got a ring. I like Giannis, I like Jayson Tatum, I really like watching Golden State play the game of basketball.

A much better effort from the Celtics tonight…hopefully a split in Milwaukee to get back on serve…

The Big East breakup was the biggest shit show ever. Ruined the best basketball conference of all time to chase college football money. I get the economics of it but what a great thing flushed down the toilet. UConn is back but it’s just not the same.
