I have a buddy that lives in North Bend in the neighborhood south of exit 32. He's been on the road from Renton since 2pm. He ended up stuck in traffic on Snoqualmie Ridge Parkway, trying to get down to old-town Snoqualmie. No go there so he (and everyone else) got turned around and headed back up to the ridge. Not sure if he stopped and had dinner or not, but as of 10pm, his new goal is to get off the ridge onto I90 east to the casino exit, and go thru North Bend all the way out to truck town (exit 34), get on WB I90 and then take his exit 32 to get home. The goal is midnight. Crazy man.

How lucky ( or wise) you are to be on high groundSo here is a portion of the official Skagit County 100 year flood plain map. Yellow denotes the areas of flood danger.
What I circled in red is the hill that I live on.

And they have all been told to evacuate. How lucky ( or wise) you are to be on high ground.
There’s a whole lot of yellow on the 100 year map. Not gonna go well for quite a few people
Might need to deploy the official PNWFF helicopter to extract you? Good news that the projected Skagit crest has been dialed down.So here is a portion of the official Skagit County 100 year flood plain map. Yellow denotes the areas of flood danger.

You aren't missing anything. These events always remind me of how I chose the location of my headquarters. Our river valleys become an ugly mess this time of year. Fun to visit, but never live there.I was tempted to do some flood peeping yesterday, but then decided the roads should stay clear for emergency responders and people who need them, not me. I also don’t have four hours of spare time but I do appreciate the power of rivers.
I’d love to see any waterfall right now, and just seeing in person where all the water goes and how fast or slow it’s moving is actually really informative. You aren't missing anything. That hill may be an island temporarily. So here is a portion of the official Skagit County 100 year flood plain map. Yellow denotes the areas of flood danger.

KOMO said it was 72 degrees in Yakima yesterday! So crazy. Glad it's cooler today!Best of luck to all of those in the flood zone, went through it several times during atmospheric river conditions when we lived coastside with the road out of town closed from flooding and trees down.
Meanwhile, not a whiff of snow here in the Cascades, this the temp when I got off the river yesterday. The businesses/employees who make a living off of snow season setting seriously worried with a two week forecast of temps remaining in the mid 50's/40's.
