Two ideas/suggestions: one, buy the best marabou you can find, and two, watch a bunch of YouTube videos.

Haven't posted in a while, been a busy past few months for me. I have been following along with all of your awesome creations though. Thought I'd get back to sharing.
I do an annual trip with a couple buddies. We have been to various places around the West, Oregon, Montana, Canada, California. We had never tried Wyoming, so we chose to go there this year. This was our 13th year doing this trip (we missed 1 year during Covid). I usually spend all winter/spring tying a box of flies for each years trip, with the intention of sharing those flies during the trip. I noticed that most years, i would offer flies, but nobody would really take me up on it, or we were separated when they wanted to change flies. So this year, I tied each guy a box of 2 dozen flies (3 other guys). I figured if they were "their flies" they might actually use them. And, I had so many flies from previous trips I already had pretty much everything I (we) needed. As I said, nobody would really take me up on using them, and I maybe lose half a dozen flies of the couple hundred I tie for each trip...I am stocked up! So each guy got this box:

One pattern worked exceptionally well in Wyoming.

This was the fly of the trip. I fished one for 3 days straight and caught more fish than I could count on it. My buddies had similar success with it. It holds up a dropper great too!
When I returned home, I figured I would continue fishing it on my local to see how it worked, and for the rest of the summer and up through this past Monday, this was my go to fly. It must look close enough to a summer stone and an October Caddis.
Here's a couple from Monday, just for fun, that chomped this fly:

That fly is pretty sweet!! If you have time and are interested, would love to see a SBS. I know that’s a big ask…
oh man, of course, no rush!!Thank you Sir!
I hope to do an SBS of it this winter. Still finishing up with (wine) grape harvest!
I hate you.the next 1.5 months.
I'll see what I can do re. customized reports. It's not easy/possible to upload videos directly here and I'm not about to become a YouTuber so IG is much easier for one-stop uploads.I hate you.
If you have internet down there don't forget about us. And I want customized PNWFF reports, not this sloppy seconds IG stuff.![]()
