Any pro tips on how to get the wings/legs so well executed? I need to practice on this more.

Here’s a sequence from an old SBS of mine

Create a thread loop, wax; clean, stack, measure (1.5 gap width) a clump of deer hair; insert in clip, trim butts

Insert clip in loop, release, spin

Wet fingers, stroke fibers back, wrap

The pheasant rump shoulder was just tip-tyed and wrapped.

Hope this helps,
Scott

Thank You!

I had pretty good success with small string leeches this past week getting eats from a few different fish species. These are small, lightweight, cast easy and will swing into the soft inside shoulder water. Adding to the contrasting color quiver, probably don't need them but fun to tie and they work.

Not my usual muddler hook so a little different head shape - started out as another Spundun but didn’t leave quite enough room up front for the wing so I turned the deer hair around.

hook - WFC Model 3 #10
thread/rib - Uni 6/0 camel
tail - elk hair
body - deer hair
underwing - Congo Hair shiner tan
shoulder - pheasant rump
collar/head - deer hair

Regards,
Scott
