What's Catching You Fish?

I was under the impression that fly fishing was a gentleman's sport.

you're right, I probably should have swung it on a tight light with a classic spey rod & silk double taper line with a long cat gut leader....well, you're in luck....j/k, I'm a sinner.

I dunno yet, the top two vote getters are, "bacon & eggs" & "red rocket"

I'm still awaiting the final tally though...

Ye olde meat and two veg.

Well. If your presentation was strong it shouldn't matter.
No, really 😏
ok, I've gotta say, your response to this whole "thing" is literally perfect!

The kilowatt has produced my last couple landed fish. After I landed one today, I went through the run a second time with my 5 wt spey and riffle-hitched the muddler. I had three “hello there” from fish, one was a complete whiff ( by the fish and by me,) one was a grab and pull but no hook up, and the third was a good hit but no hook. Love watching the fly skate.

Cold wet miserable few hours as Liam was at school:

Interesting to be getting largemouth still this late in year. Small size ten jig leech olivr/chartreuse. Had a bigger one get off at the tube.

The rain stopped and I watched this trout rising from over 200 yards away. Slurp. Pause. Slurp pause. Over and over again. Finally within casting range. I thought I was a little far infront so I stripped fast to keep my fly near surface and prepare for another cast. Strip strip boom!

Looks like quite a wake in the first photo. Probably trying to stay warm. How fast were you going? 😆

This buggy little tool fly put a surprising number of trout and short fin grayling into the net last weekend...it's mostly just pheasant body feathers for the body, tail and collar. Only flash is in the dubbed head.

Looks like it gets down!
that it does! the soft hackle collar helps slow that a little bit (actually just perfect). But still pretty easy to cast on a semi-lightweight euro setup.
