next door neighbors can have serious disagreements, but when the bully from two blocks over shows up out front and starts throwing his weight around, it's time to kick ass and get back to arguing later...Just want to say, "What a welcome change from the other forum"! Both sides of the political isle finding they have more in common than they realized. 'Very Cool"!
History books are full of these stories ,one would think people would learn from History as the ending is always pretty much the same every time . Damm humans are dumb !History is filled with megalomanic tyrants commiting grievous military blunders, surrounded by fawning sycophants, who eventually share the same fate.
Humans NEVER learn from history. The same sad human dynamics drive every generation.History books are full of these stories ,one would think people would learn from History as the ending is always pretty much the same every time . Damm humans are dumb !
WW - I know you well enough (virtually speaking) to know you would be on the right side of this. Definitely nothing in my post was directed at you.As one of those who had his post deleted, I can assure you there was NO sympathy towards Russia in that post.
My deleted post contained language concerning this that was not quite so eloquent...
That war's been raging a long time...If Russian hackers hack American gov't institutions or companies, how is that not an act of war?
Ask Rand Paul about thatnext door neighbors can have serious disagreements, but when the bully from two blocks over shows up out front and starts throwing his weight around, it's time to kick ass and get back to arguing later...
I hate what's happening to the Ukrainian people, but I hate the prospect of us going to war with Russia a lot more.
Have some of you forgotten that Putin has a finger on "The Button?" Increasingly unstable as he is becoming, do you seriously not think he will use it as soon as he starts to feel the walls closing in? These are frightening times, indeed. We need to hope HARD that the Russian people can somehow change Putin's mind, but I see no great reason for optimism on that front this evening.
Can't agree with deserving to get nuked. There's better options. We absolutely have to get rid of Putin regardless of what happens in Ukraine. We do not have the option of letting him remain in control.. we have to do it regardless of what button his finger is on..
If we do nothing we become the bad guy and deserve to get nuked off the face of the planet

True. It seems from the protests in Russia the will to change is there. Their failures in Ukraine at the moment at least seem very encouraging also. As dark as things seem there appear to be bright spots all over.If the country doesn't change from within, a new dictator usually just pops up to replace the old one. Being new and eager to make their mark, they're also often more enthusiastic about dictating stuff.
good grief! it's up to us.I don’t know about the whole world, but certainly a guy or two in Russia…

Interesting take on the alliance between Russia and China, reached at the beginning of the recent Olympics...I found it interesting to look at other parts of the world and how they view Russian war with Ukraine. This provides a nice overview:
