Still a fun way to catch fish
The slack line would just start moving and if your reaction time was good you can stick em

There’s always a fish or two around the beaver lodge. Mr or Mrs Beaver didn’t seem to appreciate my visit today however.

My last trip the bass were acting like musky. Following the fly until turning away and disappearing into the depths. Wish I had some foam damsel patterns as I saw a couple pop out of the weeds to eat on the surface.

Started slow
Had to skip the senko under the willows for a bite but by sunset they were eating at the surface
Never found the right fly but got a few on a popper and a few on a stimie which was a first for me

Tried out Banks in the smoke this week. Had to peddle across to the deep side to find them for the most part, but the smallies liked a stealth bomber

Well done on the bass! I wish the wind and smoke hadn't been an issue and - those darn caprs - would have presented themselves. Always a next time.

I spotted a bunch further uplake that next day, but they didn't seem to be feeding, and showed no interest in a fly dropped near them. Water was still very murky in the shallows there.

I appreciated all the tips, tho, and had fun walking those flats with you!
