Hey Denver, we got a deal. Go Broncs!

i'm back! Caps beat Calgary 5-4! scored 3 in the third for a solid road win!

anyway, i'll say this about RW3... he played like a champion while he was here and played a large part in bringing the city a championship. man, that was fun! maybe should've been two but that's another conversation. he's squeaky clean to the point of being annoying. is that so bad? he spoke in sports babble cliches and became a celebrity QB. but when he stepped on the field he was all about winning and i never felt like he was "faxing it in."

wouldn't it be funny if he stays in Seattle after all this hype today. the deal's not done yet...

He’s not coming back….
Even if one of the guys the Seahawks are acquiring fails his physical, they’ll likely work out some other type of compensation.
The RW train has left the station.

What I hope is happening: Rather than the team sticking with 70yr old Pete and his 60yr old playbook, they're grooming Sean Desai to be head coach and this is his rebuild. Pete's just there to help with a smooth transition. Otherwise, it makes zero sense to blow things up like this and stick with Pete's tired philosophy. I still wouldn't mind if he stuck around as he's great for the locker room, but his playbooks and overall in-game philosophy are obviously not working anymore.

The RW trade is just brutal for me and I'm sure long time Seahawks fans that have memories of the Broncos as a division rival. Of course it made the Super Bowl win that much sweeter but this trade stings more than if he'd gone almost anywhere else.

It was time.

I personally thought Wilson was a great player and a better citizen; the rarest of the rare in the NFL. I'll be sad to see him playing for another team, and I wish him all the best. That said, I agree with those who don't see any real likelihood that the Hawks, as constructed, were going to make the playoffs next year in a brutal division, let alone win a Super Bowl. Since those are the reasons for paying a veteran, franchise QB 10% of your salary cap, if you don't think you can achieve those things in a given year, it's probably best to cut bait while that QB still has franchise trade value. Whether it works out soon, later, or never, I think it was the sound business decision to make.

That Wagner is gone as well makes it crystal clear that they are trying to clear as much cap space as possible. What we still don't know is if they are planning to trade some of those early round picks and a bag of cash for a veteran QB, or perhaps they are going all in on getting younger and trying to rebuild. Not being overly impressed with the current QB market, I hope it's the later, but like the rest of us, I don't know if that's the best thing or not. Whatever the case, it was time to make changes. The toxicity developing between players and coaches last year was not an indication that they would likely be better together this year.

Hey, you guys can have Bridgewater....I hear he's available.
He has serious potential. If Denver can’t solve their pass protection issues, Wilson will just suffer the same fate, sitting on the injured bench all season.

Denver's protection "issues" stemmed more from the fact that Bridgewater held onto the ball longer than nearly any other starting QB (due in large part to the fact that he just doesn't have a strong enough arm to fit the ball into any window other than wide open). Our O-line isn't top 5 by any stretch, but it's not in the lower half of the league either.

ultimately though, I'm fucking thrilled. I'll take Russ over nearly every other QB this side of Mahomes and J.Allen.

I think some of you Hawks fans might be in a state of denial of a spurned lover...."yeah, well he wasn't perfect either"..."remember that one time that he didn't do the dishes"

I’m super excited. Actually looking forward to watching the Broncos play next season. I know every team has their good & bad years, but the last few have been brutal, especially games played against other squads in the AFC West.

Yup. I can't see Pete around much longer. The reason his star rose was due to Wilson and now that he's moving on to greener pastures, Pet won't have much to rely on.... as you noted, he is a bit dated.

Could be a long rebuilding road for the 12th Man.

Curious what is the expectation of Bronco fans now that they’ve gone all in like the Rams did last year?
Playoffs, Super Bowl and what will represent a disappointment next season?

I don’t know if reincarnation is a thing or not, but if it is, I’m pretty sure really bad people come back as Pete Carroll’s chewing gum.

I’d just like to see some sign of improvement. I’ll be happy with that.

It will be tough just to get to the playoffs in this division...as a Raider fan, I was hoping RW would stay home...

Despite all I've said on previous pages, I definitely don't think the Hawks will be better next year without Wilson. Far from it. I just think this is a necessary move that's better to do a year early than a year late. Rip the bandaid off and get what you can.
