If the haul is worth it, better to sell high than to ride it to the end like the Steelers did with Big Ben. I'm a glass half full outlook on this one. He's aging, not playing at the same level, and can't seem to do much when he isn't moon balling it to Lockett the last two years.

Hello? Your Rams did what the Seahawks are going to do (build a team first) and then they completed the plan by doing exactly what the Broncos did by acquiring a veteran QB as one of the final pieces.

The Aaron Rodgers insane contract probably had some effect on the hawk's outlook. Franchises will try and win with a rookie-deal QB or get a late-career, proven QB after building team. Pretty much what the hawks did 10 years ago.

Stars with talent on rookie contracts works. He's not had a line since he's taken the big $$$$. It's time.
 
As a Niner fan I fully support this move. If they never play him again I'd be happy.

Is Adams next? 2 first rounders for an aging star on a rebuilding team doesn't seem like too good of a deal now...
 
The full deal: #Broncos get: Russell Wilson and a fourth-rounder. #Seahawks get: 2 first-rounders and 2 second-rounders, a fifth-rounder, Drew Lock, Shelby Harris and Noah Fant.
According to Rappaport anyways...


Depending on what years the draft picks are, and who they draft with those picks, could be a decent deal.
It's as much, if not more than they could expect for a 33 year old qb in the NFL.
 
C-hawks had to trade Wilson to repair the damage from the disastrous Jamal Adams trade. Drew Lock is QB now???

It will be interesting to see how this goes.
They've been terrible in the first round, both at picking and trading them away.
My guess is Schneider turns those two first rounders into four second rounders and maybe some thirds or something along those lines.

Man, I'd take that deal every day of the week! I mean, Seattle can't draft for shit anyway...we coulda given them 6 first rounders and they would find a way to fuck them up. I'm surprised they didn't try to include Pete in the deal...we woulda just cut him.

Won't know how this works out for years of course, but I wouldn't be surprised after this to see more moves. Now that the trades are happening, probably some more in the works here.
To be honest, this deal is as good as we were going to get, so take it now.
 
I'm going to apologize in advance...right now. I'm probably going to be pretty annoying on this thread during the season. Probably a little bit before....starting now.
 
Love this trade. We weren't good enough with Russ to win right now. Our division is stacked.

Getting that insane haul for an aging, past his prime QB who acts like a diva and causes headaches throughout the organization is a steal.

I'd do this trade all day!! Well done Schneider.
