SFR Legit PNW Hurricane on the way

Sorta fishing-related
Coastal and foothills looking like the worst areas to be. 1.8" rain forecast here tomorrow, winds only in the 40's though, morning should be ok...

Think I'll just stay home anyway...sharpen up the saws and get the mix filled up, then make soup.
:)

Definitely stormy near the coast today. Got hit by a storm with 1/2" hail and had to find some cover under a tree. Fishing was terrible, but I did get the only coho I saw all day (a firetruck) to eat a jig. Time to stay inside for a couple weeks.

Interesting thought if you have a death wish... First, you might have to go VERY far west offshore or very far south to encounter any surface waters warm enough (and even off the South Oregon coast, the temps are VERY marginal).

And if you wanted to prospect in our usual spots off the continental slope west of Westport, it might be a bit breezy and the waves a bit sporty, at least for the rest of this week.

[I've been in seas that big with winds that high, but that was through the Drake Passage between southern South America and the Antarctic Peninsula and I was in a 219' ice-strengthened research vessel, the Polar Duke. Fair warning, I didn't have a good time under these conditions...]. But if you are game and you can convince @Nick Clayton, I'm in (might have to cover my head with scopolamine patches though). End of the week might be a bit better, just saying...

It has been interesting reading the updates from NWS. Water and snow event in Oregon with potential of lots of flooding. High to extreme winds in western WA. Comparison to Columbia Day event - wow. IMHO concerning for all.

I can not remember anything like it.

Weathermen are taking a card from the guys next to them . A lot of hyperbole and shock value words.

Hope you are right. Time will tell - shortly...
