Bamboo Fling

FWIW, the rest of June is not possible for me. I seem to have booked up most of my weekends through early July.

We can always plan on two events.. one in June and maybe one in the Fall.. I'm down with that.. June 11th or 12th works for me.. the 12th better since I have Sunday's and Monday's off.. but I'll take the day off if its a Saturday! I'm planning trips, but later in June or July and working out the details..

What you should do is just pick a date and go with it. Like flybill said we could have a second one in the fall if there is enough interest. No matter what day you choose you will have a few of us that can't make the date. Stick with whatever date you choose and have some fun, those that can, will and those that have to miss the event will.

Why not sunday June 12 with a start time of noon or 1pm? That would allow those of us who go to church to get there and then head to the cast around.

I'm down! Sundays work for my current schedule! I can take the lead on this if necessary... any yeahs or nays? We could do Lake Tye in Monroe if we want water and some fish but the park in Redmond is fine.

I plan to be fishing a bamboo rod on the Firehole that weekend so I'll have to catch the next gathering. I'm up for a second one this year in fall or maybe even August during the dog days of summer when the trout fishing opportunities are fewer.

I have been very busy with things other than bamboo fly rods, damn it anyway. Well, I am making a command decision. The bamboo Fling is on for June 12th a Sunday, start time is 11AM and the location is Cascade View Neighborhood Park in Redmond the same as last year. I would like to see someone that builds bamboo rods bring their tools and maybe do a little demo. I know we can't build a rod in one day, but it would be nice if we could see the tools and how they are used. Hope to see you all then.

Works for me. I'll be bringing my Sharpes 8'3", 8'5" and 8'8" staggered ferrule fly rods.

I’ll try and be there with a couple rods and refreshments. I’ll try and bring some of my stuff.
