@FlyFishDan I don't think anyone was trying to push you out, but like was said, it's hard to make it here without a sense of humor and thick skin. It's a group of guys who have largely known each other for 20+years through this forum and its predecessor. But we welcome new folks with open arms, and need to in order for this place to survive. It's an overall positive environment, and I think if you stick around, get in a number of other threads (not the Otter thread... anything but that), you'll see that this place hasn't survived this long by being negative.
My only advice to you or anyone else that's in your position: Rather than go on the defensive, maybe take a moment to reflect on things you get ball busted over. Either laugh it off, or consider maybe some folks on here have been at this a long time, seen and experienced a lot, and care a great deal about the sport and our resources. Maybe they have a point from time to time. If they don't, bust balls right back at them and have a laugh at each others expense.
Either way: Continue to enjoy the sport and what you're doing. Just consider some of the tactics and approaches you're promoting. I think if not for that, things would have gone very differently in this thread. And as a YouTuber or social media "influencer" of any variety, you have to go in understanding that opening yourself up to criticisms comes with the territory. It's just part of that game and a huge reason I don't participate in any of that personally (that, and I have nothing to offer the world as far as being interesting, charismatic or entertaining). I just do my thing and largely keep to myself... which is an odd thing for someone who is part owner of a social media platform
