Polychaete Worms.

Whoever posted that Nordic Anglers fly tying video, thank you! These things wiggle and move a lot and mine seem to be almost neutrally buoyant 🤘. I tried one with a stinger and the rest with various saltwater “streamer” hooks to test.

Looks more like a ruptured duck than a sparrow. The shmootz adjacent to the pheasant rump makes a nice marabou sub.

hook - Dai Riki 135 #8
thread - Uni 6/0 black
tail - pheasant flank
rib - H2O Twist tan (doubled/twisted)
body - dubbing hare’s ear/squirrel
shoulder - pheasant rump
collar - pheasant aftershaft (loop dubbed)
eyes - large bead chain gold
head - dubbing hare’s ear/squirrel

Regards,
Scott

An interesting version of one of my all-time favorites. I've fished the Sparrow on the swing, as a damselfly nymph, and in several colors as Drake mergers. To me, your version screams tailing bonefish. Having known Jack a bit back in the day, I know he would approve.
