This little thing and another like it caught an unfortunate amount of small stockers yesterday casting and stripping. We kept casting because there were jumbos mixed in but besides the one we got eyes on following a hooked little guy into the boat and one that was hooked and spit the fly after a jump, none were bothered unfortunately.

Tried this #8 Pistol Pete bugger for the jumbos. Water was cold and stained brownish green so I thought a little more flask might help. A couple strands of blue flashibou in the tail and a gold propeller in front of the cone.

That puppy wintered well. Probably ate most of her friends this past winter.

Had good numbers sight fishing a bibio 3.5' behind a kate mckleran on an intermediate line, but nothing big like you guy's are finding, maybe up to 14".

If you want to catch big fish you need to fish where there are big fish and most of the time you need to fish a large fly. Good luck.
