Caught plenty of these in Cayo Coco/Cayo Paredon Cuba. Just walked in the door after an epic Bonefish adventure, Wife and I landed more than we would have ever expected.

The hare's ear softhackle I posted in the caddis thread works. Fished as a caddis riding an egg along the bottom?

I've been kinda quiet but a recent posting had the river packed today so I'll show the hatchery hen my wife asked me to get after seeing the post.

Wait a minute, I saw this fish last night. I went to the Perin, Hughes, Hafele and Richmond talk with Chris last night ;)
Ha! He's the good brother...

I heard it was a good presentation. Did you pick up any secret spots or tips you can share?

This past Thursday @Lakedude put on a clinic fishing a #16 ice cream cone and the same size peacock herl ice cream cone - I tied some up and added a couple of dyed red peacock herl bodied flies in size 13 and 15. Both the smaller natural colored ICC and the dyed red bigger one resulted in takedowns and a couple caught fish. IMG_2284.jpg

When freshly tied, the herl looks bulky - not so much when wetted.

Show me your herl.

The wind picked up from a nice chironomid chop to whitecaps pretty much ending my chironomid fishing so I loop knotted on a jigged vampire leech and let the strong wind swing the rigging. Oh yeah!

A quick 2 day trip to introduce my hubby to the Basin. Mostly pretty slow - and still too cold for bass - but a well known lake gave up a couple of Lahontans: an unpictured 18"ish, and this chubby 24". What takes a chunk out of a two foot fish??
Both on this simple marabou jig leech (I think this one had a marabou dubbing loop collar)
