A few from the last week (Mon. - Sun). Should be more. Only landed 6 of the 15 adult fish I hooked. Prior to that I was on a 1-8 streak which makes me a collective 7 for my last 23 I believe. Legit hooked, should have landed fish. A boooo…… :).

Even with the lost fish….or even if there were no fish at all, these late September/early October sunrises have been amazing….

I didn't realize how back logged I was in reading the Puget Sound Thread. I'm caught up now. Nice to see some fish on the beach.

Yesterday Afternoon, was back on the Sound MA10/11. First time since we did our week long camping trip over in Central WA. I was on the hunt for some late Coho. No love from them, but, sure found a bunch of SRCs. Best time of the year for me! As long as the weather holds, I'll be out.

Is that a sailfish with his mouth open on the right chasing a bird that just crapped himself? Or just a cloud.
I’m never going to see anything else in that photo.

Well played, sir. Well played.

There’s also a dog scooting its butt on the carpet.

Slower action for cutts today.

saw a kid on a paddle board go by. No life jacket just headed 1000 yards or more off shore. A couple hours later I see him about a 3000 yards out trying to get back. He made it, but by golly he’s got to be tired. Stupid for not having a PFD on. Just his swimming trunks.

That's the overconfidence that will get you killed, or if you get in trouble you deserve that big search and rescue bill. Kinda like a seatbelt law, I don't like, it but I can live with it.

A few years back we rescued a genius south of Possession. He was almost in the shipping lanes, wearing dark colors, and in a grey float tube. No life jacket either because "This thing's inflatable."

He was grateful for the ride back to Double Bluff, though.

I have taken more then one dip in the Sound in my full gear, I now have a vest that es made for fishing that is a PFD not a auto inflate but a pull so it’s not too big and clunky.

I love inflatable vests for exactly those reasons. Makes it even harder for someone to argue against one. Hard and fast rule for my boat: you can go out in it if you’ve a lifejacket on. Our family had a sailboat back in the day, and sold it to a guy who went overboard about a month later. They found the boat, but never found him.

Agree @Jake the inflatables have made it too easy not to. The M16 inflatable version is on me all the time and doubles as a wading belt. I know I won’t wear the vests at times so this was a no brainer.

Highly recommended, especially if you’re a fisherman without a pfd. Also refill kit for belt costs $1.50 per charge compared to $14 for the vest.

Nice morning on the beach. Good number of cutts to hand but only two decent size fish and one jumbo that self released after a nice jump. Most of the fish seemed to be hanging over eel grass on the outer side of an oyster bar once it got exposed by the outgoing tide.
Tons of small anchovies, some getting hammered.
Weather was too nice for good fishing. The water seems to have gotten cooler over the past two weeks. We could use some rain to freshen things up.
5,313 summer chums if you are familiar.

I don't fish Salt water, maybe it's because there is no Salt water where I live. But people that do these kind of things either they have no brains to start with or they didn't research things out. Somebody should have told him the ins and outs of paddle boarding. You see things like this all the time. They feel like they are like Superman and don't listen to anybody. But anybody with a little common sense should of been able to figure it out.

I wouldn't get into a canoe with my brother until we checked it out. So he bought a canoe at Kmart and took it to lake Ballenger to try it out. I got in and settled on to the cross bar in front. He got in and it tipped right now. Into the lake we went. After getting out of the water we tried a second time. I should of just stuck with the first try as we went back into the drink.. I swore off Canoes after that. But we checked it out. Didn't need to try it out on a bigger lake and maybe lose all of out gear.

Still trying to squeeze out a few more coho fillets this season. Slowed down quite a bit on the beach I fish this time of year that’s still open. One 2 lb fish to hand this morning. I sent it back to be scooped up by nets. Another great sunrise though. Starting to sound like a broken record….

On the rise…
