Put in a 2.5 hour session last night after work. Went one for two. The one I lost was due to a bent out stinger hook. Never had that happen on what was likely a 4-6 lb coho. Can’t be sure, Just basing that on what I have seen caught to date on that beach. Two quick head shakes and off she went. I noticed the wire was a little thin on these but they are marketed as a saltwater stinger hook and it was a size two.



The fish that was landed (after I switched back to a fly with a trusted Gamakatsu stinger ).

But it’s a bitch to tell if it’s clipped or not and you can’t remove it from the water if it is not a keepable fish.

Got out for another short (1.5 hour) session after work today. Got a solid fish in the first ten minutes, nothing for the next hour so decided to head home and enjoy dinner and a glass of wine with my wife. Ah, the fruits PS provides in the summer/fall. Smoked salmon chowder deep into the heart of winter .

This looks like a fine example of a saltwater beaver lodge. Some of those pieces have what appear to be chew marks on them.
