Most scenic places to crap in the west.

I've enjoyed some very scenic spots in the mountains. One memorable occasion I was overtaken with the urge halfway up the Kain Route on Bugaboo Spire in British Columbia. I had to unrope and scrambled as far off the ridge as possible to relieve myself. Not my pic, but this was the view out to Snowpatch and Pigeon Spires. It was quite a satisfying experience. 2013-08-03 - 085 - Bugaboo Spire NE Ridge - IMG_2414.jpg

The thought of climbing mountains to experience a poop with a view never crossed my mind.

I know a guy that was taking a nice relaxing poop in the woods during elk season. After a minute or so he realized he was looking at a herd across the draw. Drop the bull before pulling his pants up!

Someone should come up with an app that shows all the convenient places to do your business while out on the road.
I know the Emerald Queen casino has saved me a few times on my way down south. You’ve got to love places that are open 24 hours because at 4:00 in the morning there aren’t many options and zero rest stops heading south…..

My parents were really into hunting. One year after they came home with only the buck that mom shot (dad was ribbed unmercifully by the other guys in camp) dad was sitting on the throne at home. He looked out the window and saw an 8 point (eastern count) whitetail buck come out of the corn field in back of the house. He ran and got a gun, slid the window open, and shot the deer. He never admitted if he shot it sitting on the throne or if he pulled his pants up during the action.

I feel like this thread is really needing some input from @Dustin Chromers

It's true. I've shit on and in some of the most awe inspiring places on the planet. There is nothing more satisfying than a great movement in a pristine place. I feel like Glenn planting my flag in the moon. And yeah, if I got to be first on the moon I'd have crapped there too. One small dump for Chromers, one giant movement for mankind.

The real key to why I've been able to consistently bag so many coveted firsts and greats in the arena of defecation is my commitment to the craft. Just like swinging steelhead, you gotta want to work for it. You gotta value the journey beyond the prize. There's gotta be a fire in your gut needing to come out. No, it's not easy but being a champion never is otherwise everyone would do it. You gotta be willing to climb higher, go further, and suffer greater than you ever thought possible. Is it worth it? Yeah, for some it is.

Here's a list of some of my accomplishments indoor and outdoor.

1. The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam. You'll never find a finer marble hall to do your business. If art of the game is your drive it's well worth the effort to make your way to this location.

2. The Texas School Book Depository. Students of history will know the proper floor and side of the building to access this hallowed solemn place to think. Literally a bathroom that changed the course of American history. I followed this by a walk through the Dallas streets and a contemplative moment on the grassy knoll.

3. Matheny Creek Canyon. A humble and high hallowed place half way up the gorge on a little ledge hosted one of my most proud achievements. There a small and solitary yew tree bore witness to perhaps the most determined movement in human history. Why? Because it's there. It demanded all my skills to reach this place. I monumented this remote ledge with a single white streamer marking the steamer. And even it was lost, like tears in the rain. It's not about the permanent mark or accolades anyway. That yew tree now fertilized still grows there to this day.

There are many others but this post is only intended to provide inspiration. I've got my eyes set on Everest. I think a symbolic shit on the summit would be a great way to communicate my feeling of what the Western world is doing to that place. Perhaps space will be in the cards soon as private flight becomes a possibility. Really the sky is the limit. But know this. It isn't about a famous or scenic location. It's about the commitment to the craft and sparing no effort. It's about making your own temporary and beautiful mark.

I think there was something like this for a minute in NYC. It can be a real issue at times, especially In Manhattan. I got real good at the quick shot. Basically you walk into any bar, order a shot of we’ll whiskey, and then immediately ask to use the bathroom.

Pro tip.....Hospitals. Open 24 hours, and always have super clean restrooms. I'll drive a bit out of my way if I know there is a hospital around.

I mean, they have an emergency room. What better place to head to in such an emergency.

Libraries used to be the best until the junkies wrecked that. I long for the past when I could grab an unknown to me but important book and go into a peaceful sanctuary to do what needed to be done. Now it's all locked stalls, weird blue lights, and suspicious looks. Feral mongrels have ruined libraries period.

So, do you tell the attending physicians that you have a severe case of turtle head syndrome? ;)

I once pulled that maneuver at a Barnes and Noble. Thumbed through a large coffee table book with pictures of boats while doing my business. Finished up and returned the book to the shelf.

Some would argue it isn't the classiest maneuver, but I was pretty young and didn't care much about class

We used to rent the USFS Green Ridge lookout tower above the Metolius River, in central Oregon. The crapper was originally a small, old-timey wooden shack, a one-holer with an unbelievable panoramic view of the Oregon Cascades. It was a pure joy to use. Then it was torn down and rebuilt in the form of the ubiquitous modern ADA approved bathroom like those seen at every access area. Much needed, I'm sure, but the view disappeared. https://www.google.com/maps/uv?pb=!...=2ahUKEwid8cWf4773AhVNpFsKHRexCAEQoip6BAhXEAM

If only I knew of this thread a few years back when in MT...Some of the forest service cabins you can rent have outhouses with stupid views.
