Now we're talking! The real question is how you wear the scarf. I have 4-5 that gets a lot of use in the winter, especially when paired with my peacoat of duffle coat. My favorite is a handmade Scottish merino plaid my mom brought back from vacation. I only have 1 that gets worn while fishing, but only rarely. I find I don't like them in the rain and it's not often cold and dry here on the westside.
Are you doing a single wrap with long tails? Double wrap with short tails? Folded and single wrap? Folded and both tails passed through?
Turtlenecks remind me of Ted Bundy.Speaking of turtle necks, remember when wearing a turtle neck under a dress/collared shirt was a thing, sort of in place of an ascot, I guess it has come back, what's old is new again...

I seen the ones in Billings, they are mostly horseshoe and cattle brand patterns.I’m actually headed down to Billings right now to look for a new scarf so this feedback is helpful. The weather is perfect for a day of shopping…28 degrees and fresh snow.
I will circle back later.
Must be colder than it looks. That gent has a necktie and merino or cashmere V-neck sweater underneath that tweed jacket.
I would, but when I began thinking about it I realized that I probably don't know either. I think it's a scarf that is worn in the British Isles.

Do I need a bamboo rod to rock this look?Ascot only works if you're wearing tweed, which of course, every flyfisher should:
