What Are You Eating?

Tonight's meal is a yearly tradition for my wife and I, a bisquick pizza on a sheet pan on or near the date of her father's passing 14 years ago. Jerry loved his bisquick pizza, so we're keeping the memory of a good man gone too soon close to us this eve.

Peace, y'all
It’s has been close to 30 years since I last made a Bisquick pizza. I loved it back then.

We dined last night at Boia De in Miami…small place sandwiched between a laundry mat and a medical center in a strip mall…but has a Michelin star.

Hamachi crudo & baked clams…

All of their pasta’s are homemade…chestnut agnolotti…

My favorite of the evening…rabbit pappardelle…

Not shown…braised lamb ribs seared under the salamander, and for dessert a fabulous rice pudding with olive oil espuma, black rice krispies & burnt orange gastrique

Stone crab, the world's most tasty crab. Followed very closely by Australian Mud Crabs. These beauties, known as "muddies," are found in tidal creeks on mangrove islands that are a part of the Great Barrier Reef. I found one while wade fishing for Indo-Pacific tarpon and had to wrap it in my shirt to carry it back to the boat. That night for dinner it fed me, my son and my friend Howdy all the crab we could eat for dinner. Imagine a Dungie with a body the size of a basketball and claws larger than an insulated ski mitten. Yumm....

I would catch Samoan crabs on Molokai back in the early ‘80’s when I lived there for two years…i suspect it is similar to a muddie…the biggest i ever caught was 11 lbs, with claws much larger than my hands. We would go out at night with head lamps and nets to scoop them up…when alerted, they would go into a defensive posture with claws up…they could eff you up if not careful

Gatorade is a "circular brand name"!!!! Basically what that means is: when they named it "gatorade" is was already called GATORADE and they were sayin "get a 'RADE'. I.E. "ahh let me get to the store, get a 'RADE!!!". SO it was already called that!!! Known as a circular brand naming strategy!!!

Will probubly start up a NEW THEEAD about this because it is a deep topic. TO BE DISCUSSED!!!!

I would think you would call it "get a RAGE!"

Unfortunately (okay, not really), the only one in my family besides me that likes razor clams is my son, and he lives in Oregon. That means more razor clams for me! Here's tonight's clams accompanied by one of my big-ass salads. Yumm! I did freeze some of the clams for when my son comes up.

Thanks @Shad for dragging me along on the dig. Also, I took @Brute's suggestion and fried up a little kale. Turned out nicely, if a little overcooked.

I like razor clams...

Seasoned with salt, pepper and Kinders roasted garlic! Smoked with apple wood chips for 30 minutes and finished on a low heat for maybe 10 more minutes! Delicious! Mom loved them!
