Strategically placed leaf!
Youre on a roll, just like your posts last year. I'm out flogging the water and having a bit of success but still on the Farm Team squad comparatively. I'll keep at it!
What @the_chemist doesn’t realize is that I totally recognize that leaf, haha!Youre on a roll, just like your posts last year. I'm out flogging the water and having a bit of success but still on the Farm Team squad comparatively. I'll keep at it!
Thanks! I'm sure you're doing fine. Shoot me a message if you'd like some feedback or we could potentially meet up on the river.Youre on a roll, just like your posts last year. I'm out flogging the water and having a bit of success but still on the Farm Team squad comparatively. I'll keep at it!
Size 8? Seems a little big for coho.I’m still fishing for cutthroat, I haven’t targeted coho yet. But they sure have a thing for swimming out of their way to kill size 8 yellow wooly buggers. That fly may need to be retired as a cutthroat fly at this rate.

It’s definitely big compared to the beadhead rolled muddlers that are working nearly as well.Size 8? Seems a little big for coho.

Is it a Coho? Genuine question as I have a hard time always ID-ing salmon correctly before they start to morph a bit. This fish was hooked and landed 1/4 mile from salt water on an incoming tidal push. Several others just like it on preceeding days along with a much bigger fish that had black gums, spots across tail top to bottom and a distinct Chinook smell even though it was as shiny as a bumper. This fish and the others had none of those characteristics? Genuinely curious.Sure is a funny looking coho

That's a fresh coho. 100%. Another couple weeks and those freckles down it's side will be more red and pronounced along with the coho beak that is just starting to come in.Is it a Coho?
