NFR NFL 2023 Season

Non-fishing related
Well I only got to see about 10 minutes of the game and havent seen the play back yet. They did better than I thought, but screwed the pooch in the end, seams they always play to the level of their opponent's.

I just don't know how much more of the Seahawks I can handle as a fan. Pete talk is getting old

“We will have been through all of it. We’ll have seen everything you can see, we will have toughed our way through it, we will have learned the lessons. We’ll be as ready as you can possibly get. I’d kinda like to see what that will be like. I’m looking forward to that.”

Instead of the usual I would love a statement right now like releasing Jamal Adam's. The 50 million going to our safety duo is beyond laughable. Woolen appears to be taking a giant step backwards. Our running game has no punch and so on.

There is no accountability. Offset the rah rah talk Pete with some damn ass kicking.

I will add.....Vegas does an amazing job of getting close to the spread and the O/U with all these (alleged )fixed games happening .

Maybe they know which ref(s) are in on the scam.

I have to start smoking grass again, so all of this conspiracy theory stuff will make some kind of sense.

Ownership = arc of a team. NFL buzz is that Jody Allen, who inherited the team from her brother Paul Allen, views the Seahawks as merely an asset she intends on selling as soon as 2024, and so has little incentive in changing the status quo, leaving it to whoever buys the team.

And we all know they don't want to win.

Like I said a few times previously, the decline in officiating can either be attributed to a conspiracy, or just gross incompetence that seems borderline intentional (since no steps are taken to remedy it). Either one makes me want to watch less and less. Bottom line is, games being thrown one way or another on subjective ticky tack calls sucks the fun out of it for me.

Should NFL refs be replaced by a panel of incorruptible AI entities fed data from sensors located all over the field and on the players themselves?

The thing I dislike the most about officiating in just about any sport is the penalty to the players or coaches that disparage the officiating of the game…it goes against one of the cornerstones of the founding of our nation

I get that.. But the free speech thing doesn't apply to retaliation by private enterprise, only government.

Of course…but I still don’t like it. I’m surprised that this has not been negotiated out of the collective bargaining agreements…

Colin stole my hot take!

Get rid of the subjective penalties.

to imrpove officiting - calls from each game to be reviewed by a senior NFL panel, graded and posted online. End of season the ref teams with the best grades given the bonus pay post season games with the highest graded ref team the SB....conversely, those teams posting below a minimum threshold booted.
That would of course require NFL tranparency, which is about as likely as Colin Kapernick being invited to The Annual NFL Plantation Owners End Of Season Dinner

Refs are graded, and the top tier refs are used already for the SB.
Don't see how posting the names online improves the refs performance though...

lots of penalties in that game, sure....but aren't those two of the most penalized teams in the league coming in? I mean, I'm surprised that so many people seem surprised... 🤷‍♂️

it was really one-sided too!
