Yellowjacket equinox

do you yellow jacket killers have any recommendations for the tiny ants that seem to find there way into the house ? i used Terro early in the spring, and that did the trick a couple of times. but these seem to be smaller, and not as interested in the terro. thx.
For creepycrawlies I use Home Defense spray with pretty satisfactory results for eliminating ants and spiders. I spray both the inside and outside of my stemwalls. For in-ground vespid nests I stuff a road flare in the hole after dark and stand by with a hose in case something else ignites. For eaves/tree/shrub nests I put on a sweatshirt and jeans and tape the cuffs tightly. Then after dark I use a can of jet spray hornet killer in each hand and work from the bottom of the nest to the top. The hornet spray works well on all the yellow and black bastards and on bald-faced sonsabitches too.

Your jib..... I like its cut.

Not yellow jackets but a poster in our house in Norway of the 35 species of bumblebees found here in the Beiarn Kommune more than 150 km north of the Arctic Circle. There are abundant wild flowers everywhere you look and these guys are busy getting the job done while they can. You can hear the buzz whenever you walk by a patch of flowers.

They can’t sting. The thing that looks like a stinger is an ovipositor; a tube used to lay eggs
This is not as reassuring as you might think. I’ve seen those movies

I was able to order some advion, and that has done the trick on terro resistant ants.

When i MAKE DEMANDS against a bug IT BETTER LEAVE!!!!! I aint messin around!! AINT MESSIN ROUND WITH THEESW BUGS!! Get away from me!!! Ain't got time for a bug!!!!

This treatment is The Way! We struggle every year buying those stupid hanging trap thingies which never reduce the numbers appreciably. A can of cat food, half the squeeze tube of the dog's Fipronil (saved half just in case) and voila. Two days and a quarter of the eaten can later and we are Yellowjacket free. Magical.

Agreed.

Been gone for ten days, got home today to find the front yard and sidewalk covered with catkins from the birch tree and dozens (plural) of yellowjackets on the sidewalk and crawling down into the grass to feed on catkins. Wishing I had me sum o dat shad so I could whip up a bunch of Shad Chunks™, hoping the Walleye Chunks™ will work. Just ordered Fipronil.

The yellowjacket traps are full; I don't think the traps work worth a darn once the nests are this active.

I put out a bowl of Albacore Chunks™ yesterday after cutting up this weekend's catch. I think any fish'll do. Sometimes I mist with a bit of water as well to keep it from getting too dry.

I've not had success with cat food when I've tried it. They didn't seem particularly interested.

In preparation for painting my house I have had the gas powered pressure washer running. It literally will cut paper wasps in half midflight along with the other various flying pests. So satisfying...

Just found a hornet's nest in the plum tree today, right at head level for when I'm on the rider. Battle plans laid for tomorrow @ o-dark thirty.

I seem to be drawing a skunkin' on the albacore. Mixed in some walleye and it doesn't seem to be drawing any yellowjackets. Huh. I wonder if Amazon's brand of flea and tick treatment (fipronil) has an odor that puts the yellowjackets off? Or do I need Shad but True chunks?
