Yakima KOA launch-$20!

Just a head's up if you like floating the KOA to Ringer section....Last year the launch fee was $5, yesterday I learned they raised it to $20.
The river was ripping at 4300 and the caddis were thick at 5:00.
Tough fishing.

New owners didn't having the fishing as part of the focus or expansion. I could very easily see them shutting the launch down if only to reduce traffic through the campground given all the kids campers about.

Shuttle prices are up too. Obviously gas prices impact that game.

Not only is the KOA launch up to $20. Bristol Flats now has a lock on the gate. Word is the new developer has closed access to the launch site. Like KOA to Ringer, Bristol to the green bridge made for some nice access to sections not easily accessed otherwise.

Ugh. That stinks. I don't fish the Yakima much lately but it sounds like it is time for the stalwarts to organize, get WDFW on board, and work to secure some fishing access to the state's "blue ribbon" trout stream, otherwise long stretches of the river will only be accessible to 20 mile floats.

What ever became of the proposed development of Bristol flats?
Is it still moving forward?

I really liked launching from Bristol. Too bad most things don’t last.

Ill gladly pay it as well as any camping fees. I cant let myself get irritated by shit i dont control.
Sitting along the river with my thoughts on the things that matter will make that sting from rising costs rrode away pretty quicky.

The points about $20 to launch is worth a day on the River are good points. I’m just a cheap old man who still can’t believe what things cost now. Losing access to launch or take out at Bristol is another matter.

20 bucks....
That's like 1/75th of a new Sage rod....0.01333333333 %
Seems reasonable.

The launch fee, not the rod.

Went shopping at Walmart the other day got a bargain on Oranges. Costs me 96 cents an orange. 10 oranges $9.60. What in the hell ever happened to a bag of oranges for $3.50. I guess that I'm stuck in the dark ages.

When I was fishing the Yak a lot would pay a guy at the KOA to follow to the take out let me park bring me back to launch for that amount that's been over 15 yrs ago.
