Winter Olympics Watch...

@Jojo, curling is great fun, I like to watch that. Used to do it up at the Granite Curling Club. I was the novice, I shot lead and had a push broom, the other three guys were good and used straw.
I was all about curling at Seattle Granite during the 70's. The teams I would travel with to compete in BC tournaments(bonspiels) were good enough to make a little money. More importantly, at age 19 there was BC Cider, L Blue, and red beer!

Corn brooms all the way, but occasionally debris from the straw, would send a stone askew, often changing the outcome of a match. So brushes it became.

My brother made it to the World Championship in 1975.

I did league play with the Foster boy's. I was in way over my head. Sure can be a small world sometimes.

Canada vs US in women's hockey tonight. Been really impressed with the quality of hockey played by both these teams, Gonna be fun to watch.

cheers

Its Canada or USA for the win. It hasn't changed since the inception.
No real competition for either team except this 2 team rivalry.

a joke for an Olympic event.

How much do you think China offerred her and family to turn her back on the country she was born and raised in? 20 Mil?
They even waived their requirement that to compete for China the athlete must first relenquish their citizenship in any other country.
Don't think the cheers she heard in China will be matched here in the US if and when she returns.

China won't need to pay her a penny or a yuan.

She will make millions on her own with global endorsements.

So I’m watching the ski jumps yesterday and was …’is that what i think it is?” These are the ugliest winter games!. Fuck B e i j i n g and their Olympics. Here is a photo I took of my TV. A5AFA30F-2436-4087-A192-0E8CF0524130.jpeg

And am I the only one worried that they may take our athletes hostage when the games are over…..Especially since the family members are watching from home and not there.

Oh lord, i have to quit watching the news. I really do.

A nuclear power plant? Sure looks like it to me. Nice scenic backdrop

cheers

I bet China offered as much as VS offered Chris to buy the old WFF.

Watch carefully when they do a panorama. You'll see even more cooling towers! Also, the hills are mostly exposed dirt. So much for an alpine backdrop.🤮

The viewers are liking paying the price for China wanting the first city to host both the Summer and Winter Olympics.

Don't eat China Winter Games snow...can you imagine the toxic chemicals in the water used to make the snow?

BTW those plants do operate and have been shut down for games, otherwise there are many days each year you wouldn't be able to see the top of the ramp.

As a broken down old ski bum I love the Winter Olympics, but NBC's audio mix is so bad I can only take about 5 minutes. The boat has been parked since Thanksgiving, so going to pick it up today and start prepping gear instead of yelling at the TV.
