I do not like those squirmy wormies. They squirm too much when I try to lash them to the hook and if I crank down on the thread tension to get them to stay put, I cut through them. If there is good trick to getting them tied on, I'd love to hear it.

solid thread base. Yeah, super glue works ok. Just don't use nail polish, they'll disintegrate.

I had some killer outings during ant hatches last year. Tried a pattern with some beads I used on spinners for the body. We'll see if it fools anything.

Dub the hook shenk so th material has a wider area to sit on. And or just use glue.

I'll have to try that....I'm never satisfied with my method for my carp clam flies.

For everything that went into this one? probably. longer shank 4/0 predator hook hanging off the back of a 3" long shank....that's a lot of real estate to fill in.
