What Are You Eating?

There were a pair of 121 year old pomegranate trees outside the restaurant …i could not believe they could keep them alive in the summer Las Vegas heat…they were impressive
I live in a similar climate, a few degrees cooler, and have a healthy pomegranate tree, they do very well in the heat, as do figs, walnuts, pecans as long as they get some water. That’s a great looking tree.

Despite catching a lot of fish on Sunday, didn't manage a legal fluke or a big enough bluefish to take home for dinner Had to settle for locally-caught swordfish. Grilled it up and served with corn (microwaved in the husk for ~3 minutes), grilled zucchini, and some heirloom tomato salad (all from our local farmstand):dinner.jpg

For dessert, some beach plum cobbler (foraged the plums on the walk from the beach back to the parking lot):

NJ isn't a bad place to live in the summertime......:)
