It used to be an affordable cut before it got trendy, like flank and skirt steak. It's 1st choice for us if we're making caldo, now it's 17$ for 2 hunks of oxtail if you can find them.
Unfortunately cows only have one tail…
maybe they can breed some GMO cows that are covered in tails, it would make for very exciting road trip scenery
