What Are You Eating?

My next door neighbor fished the Sekui/Neah Bay area with a Puget Sound fly shop group this past week. John scored some very nice coho peddling around the Strait and shared a filet with us. A little salt, fine ground pepper:

Delicious. My wife and I arm wrestled over the bit of belly meat. Served with rice, kimchi, miso soup and heirloom tomatoes from the garden. Leftovers for breakfast, ochazuke.

Having a do tomorrow…weather is shite but normal to me as I’m Scottish and PNW buds have canopies πŸ˜€Smoked pork shoulder and also sous vide pork belly for 10 hrs with chilli or Chinese rub of salt rosemary. Leaving the belly to dry out overnight and the. roast at 500 to crisp the crap out of it.

Tortillas, pickles and β€˜slaw to cut the fat πŸ˜€

I’ve posted this before but I gotta do it again. I hold out all year to eat a BLT. A reward for waiting until the good stuff is available.

My first ripe Black Prince and a new (and very productive) summer squash for me, Zapallito del Tronco. Made some baked zucchini fries with the squash.

BTW when I was buying a crappy loaf of bread for my BLT yesterday I remembered that you said you would hook me up with a loaf of your homemade bread a few years ago. I’m still accepting of that offer. No pressure 🀣😁

You're too kind, I have envy for a lot of your meals too, especially the foraged items.

I'll pay up! What style do you want? For BLTs, my favorite is buttermilk pan loaf. You'll have to wait a couple of weeks though, I need to order more flour, I used the last of my main bread flour today.
