In my decent sample size opinion, Breakside has been putting out the best fresh hop beers this fresh hop season.image.jpg

Picked up a bottle of Gibson's deluxe, it's giving Crown Royal a run for the money in what our Canadian friends call a Rye whiskey.

I just call it enjoyable

After a few "challenging" days of work out in the Puget Sound....I have a few days off. Tomorrow is going to be a Boody Mary morning. Vodka, Clamato, Horseradish, Worcester sauce, Green olives and fresh ground pepper. I'm, missing the pickled beans and shrimp tails ..but I'll make do. If I had Tequila I would use it instead of the vodka for "Bloody Marias" (which I prefer)..... Paired with Bacon and eggs, a black and white western movie, my recliner and a long nap starting at noon. Sometimes "day drinking" has its place. Cheers, Jim

I picked up a bottle of good ol' Wild Turkey at Grocery Outlet for $19.99. A lot of whisk(e)y drinkers will turn their noses up at it, but in my professional opinion, anything distilled by Jimmy Russell is quality bourbon. Of course, there are higher tiers when it comes to the Wild Turkey brand (Russell's Reserve, for example), but for the price, you really can't beat their flagship bottling.

Good for mixed drinks if not neat or OTR.
