The "How was your weekend?" thread...

Good luck and have fun! Is there still a good damsel hatch?
still about before the recent weather we had...chromie and red holo chron's been my ticket, however, either deeper under an indicator or at the end of a 5' intermediate tip, which has become a fave lake set-up for anything soaked, seems to attract the biters on the hunt in the higher water column vs the opportunist slow cruisers down deeper. Been some nice sized fish showing up, including some bruisers, which is encouraging for the lake's overall health.
Next month it will be beetles, ants and hoppers against the shoreline of the volcano lakes, such a blast

Found some bycatch...

The weekend started with a 10 hour Friday of football as we hosted our opener with all 3 levels winning their respective games. We all started the day in shorts and ended it in rain gear and stocking hats.

Saturday I took my wife up to hike an ancient cedar grove. The weather was perfect and it’s always fun to see something you don’t see often. IMG_7690.jpegIMG_7717.jpeg
Sunday, I was able to sneak up the river and fish for what will likely be the last time this summer. I ended it with a bang on the final run of the day. It’s a crappy selfie pic but it was a really nice way to end the summer fishing season. IMG_7756.jpegIMG_7752.jpeg

I am so looking forward to this weekend! I had a long week (or ten days, but who's counting?) of 10-12 hour days. Finished the task today and won't be back at work until Tuesday😎

I'm going to sleep in and get out with my dog tomorrow and will see one of my oldest friends at a party in Sunday.

My wife and daughter are out tonight seeing Metallica🤟

I'm going to have a very chill evening.

Spent some quality time here tonight. Back at it on Sunday....so awesome

For this Labour Day weekend, I am indeed labouring, cutting down several dozens off trees (mostly dead/dying small stuff) in our bit of forest in the Poconos. Also scraping old paint, house its going to get a new colour coat!!

Cheers

First thing this morning, some scraping already done (this is a south, southeast facing wall):

By 8:30, all scraping and prep work completed:

By noon, the wife and I had knocked out the first coat (hopefully only coat) of primer:

Now to decide on the final colour (I am leaning towards the upper third from left, the wife is leaning towards either that same one or bottom right); trim will likely be an alabaster white (currently a kind of dirty yellow/tan - same as the X rails):

Then, to get rid of those god awful rails and lattice work, replace the stairs up to the deck, strip the deck to bare wood, and stain with a natural wood stain. Oh, the joys of buying a fixer upper.

Cheers

Packing all weekend, going to move to my 5-acre fiefdom in Kelso at the end of the month.
That sounds pretty cool; congrats, Ian! Maybe you can post some pics of your spread when you get settled.
