The good boat deal thread

Why does it need to have hull ID?
It doesn't need its current HIN so I'll take it off. But does a new owner need one to use it on Lake Tapps, Lake Washington up north... with a motor... ?

How can someone get clear title to register it?

When someone gets a free boat taking care of that stuff is their concern.

I'd pay that much for a decent pair of Caviness oars! Free dinghy while you're at it.

If I didn't already have a WB10 I'd be on that immediately. Sweet little rowboat!

23 years ago I helped deliver the Beauport from Roche Harbor to San Diego. She's looking pretty good these days and a solid bargain in the yacht world. Bonus points for having "working boat" pedigree and not being super douchey from the start.

Just found this postcard on Ebay by pure accident and was stoked to buy it, having no pics from my boating days.
This was the first charter boat I captained in 1974 at age 24 out of Pillar Point Harbor. 55' with 2" wood planking, twin 6-71's, licensed for 28. This was John Gardner's first boat built for the charter business he started in the mid 1950's.
Back then no docks, rowed out each morning with the deckhand on a little dingy to our anchored boats (1000# navy surplus anchors to 2" chain to 2": braid), picked up our passengers off the dock, end of day back on anchor, cleanup with saltwater pump, row back to the wharf.
Two years later I was able to contract on a 65' x 18' steel Ed Monk design licensed for 48, built from 1/4" plate, that was like moving up from an old Chevy sedan to a new Coupe De Ville.
