Stripping baskets

I was suprised it was brand new and it was 25$ with free shipping. I would be happy with used one but new was awesome.

I am happy with it and never had running line tangled. Especially running integrated spey/scandi lines. Of sourse it will be good to have some new models from Ahrex or even from Orvis but cost is approaching 100$. I might have plastic option in the future.

fwiw I tried a Willy - Joe mesh bag and found my line wouldn't shoot from the deep bag. I fashioned a couple of DIY baskets with ziptie spikes; one from a plastic tote that had a lid that was nice for storage, but liked the contoured IKEA child's stool for my belly and hip better. Then I shelled out for a larger Linekurv and found it easier to collect and shoot my line than the smaller IKEA basket. I have used it for many years but its larger size and rigid plastic made it kind of uncomfortable when walking and even moving short distances to work a rip without taking it off and carrying it in my hand. I mentioned it to my wife and she got me one of these last Christmas.
It's 3" narrower (side to side) than the Linekurv but still seems to easily collect my line. It's also LOT cheaper, and the flexible plastic is much more comfortable around my waist and is holding up fine so far.

That is their knockoff of a Take basket.

Yup, the TAKE is almost the same size as Linekurv and about $120 locally.

Honestly, if someone wants a nice, non homemade stripping basket just place a WTB ad.
I don’t think I’ve ever paid more then $30 for any of the baskets brands I’ve bought over the years. Just like other fishing gear, people always seem to have stuff lying around they aren’t using. There should be some available soon as next year there won’t be any humpies. 😂

Used flyfishing stuff of good quality and little use is always available...and the more niche it is, the more likely it's been used twice and then sat for 5 years.
;)

Those collapsible baskets are great, good tip I never thought of looking for them on eBay I had one of the William Joseph’s, and it kind of rotted out on me after a few years…..

Speaking of William Joseph, I have one of their sling packs and would like another before the one I have completely wears out.

I ended up getting an ECOastal basket. Difficult to spend that much on foam but I used it today for the first time and it diffidently helped with distance and line control. I wish I could say that I caught a Salmo but no such luck
