Show Us Your Humpies !!!

Speaking of Duwamish, we should try and organize a flotilla, fun times running into Skyriver and Matt B for the concrete plant action a couple years ago! they have been beautifying the whole area and it'll be interesting to update the perspectives

Elliot Bay opens 8/15 and the river opens 8/20. I plan to be out there a lot.

Phone was buried, so I have no photos, but I caught 2 on gear today in 11. One solid sized one hit a 4 oz salmon jig 5' off the bottom in 150' of water, a most surprising pink, the other (small) instinctually crushed a small pink buzz bomb up on top that we had set up on a spinning rod to cast to nearby jumpers. A decent amount jumping today, not thick, but around. No kings for us, and according to the fish checker, none had even been even checked at the ramp today when we pulled out late morning.

All Humpies are welcome here...
No shame in that one either.
🙂

I definitely plan on hitting the Duw.
Not sure how many will be in MA13 on 8/2 & 8/3, but I'll be at a friend's house in Grapeview so I'm gonna give it a shot out of the boat both mornings. One of the "kids" (he's 27) is bringing his boat as well. See if we can slime both boats!

Depending on the weather, especially the wind it might be easier to trailer over to the canal (MA 12) versus running to the Nisqually area from Grapeview. There should be some fish at the hatchery by then. There are probably some there now and the forecast is for 2.4 million for the canal. Other then the Nisqually, I can’t think of any other systems in MA 13 that get pinks. The Nisqually has a forecast of 1.5 million this year. Good luck and have fun.

I have never seen one. Will be driving up to NCNP from Bend (through PDX) on Sunday. Anywhere to see this spectacle with a shortish detour off of I5? Or too early?

Yeah, I have no intention of running all the way down to the Nisqually. That sounds painful. I plan on just fishing in the morning so that probably means just some SRC in Case inlet on the flood. I've reached out to a local source there (I think you know him :)) for some pointers. The boats will probably have to wait for the slime. 😁

😁
Stonedfish got on the board earlier today...

I also caught a MA 11 pink this morning, on gear. Was heading back to the boat ramp late morning, stopped to fling a pink buzz bomb at a jumper. No love on that one, but another one jumped about 5 minutes later, and I had it hooked up less than 15 seconds later. Hooked and handed off to my son, who had a blast reeling it in. Chunky, like the one above.

He even made us keep it, insisting we were close to the pt defiance marina to get ice immediately.. first one I have ever kept.
