RETIREMENT.....IT’S OFFICIAL!!

Just remember, you now have no sick leave, no annual leave, and no days off for holidays.
And no more raises. Unless SS comes through for next year with what they are talking about.

Hearty congrats Steve! Now you can join me in forgetting what day or date it is, fishing when I feel like it rather than sitting in an office dreaming about fishing, and getting skunked more often than I used to just because I try more often, LOL! Except I know you're a better fisherman than me so my only worry is if all the trout in our local lakes will be sulking by the weekends with fresh memories of being caught and released by some dude with a hot rod bamboo rod during that week.

Today was the last frickin early work get up for my wife and me!!:cool: It hasn’t really sunk in yet because it feels like another summer school break....but September 1st....I’m going to set my alarm clock, break it and shout HA-HA! Think I fished a lot before.......
I am quite jealous but congratulations on finally being able to make your time your own with a heavy bias to fishing or just doing what you want to do. So looking forward to it but with markets so shite, likely another 10 yrs to go.

Dave

Is a new small business Hotrodz in future plans? We need you to give the fish a break once in awhile... They will thank you as well as those of us that fish the same waters.

My dad retired at 48 with full medical/dental. He says to retire as soon as you can......he knows how lucky he was to get that deal in the 1980's.
I am 52 now and retiring between 58 1/2 and 60.
No way am i working a day after 60 yrs of age.

My dad was a Boeing model design engineer for 35 years......he’s almost 99 now and beat the system! He’s been retired way longer than he worked! Doubt I’ll be that lucky.....

I retired from Boeing in 1999. I was 64. I gave them 38 years of me, and they suffered from it. Been retired 23 years. And collecting SS plus a pension from the Lazy "B".
