Congratulations, now you can fish mid day and mid week with fewer fishermen at your favorite places.

It's a sad day on the float tube thing. I returned it for it being to heavy for and old man to carry around. It weighted in at over 45 lbs empty. I'm just a little old man. I didn't want to have a heart attack trying to get it into the water. Plus I needed the money for some work on the front end of my pickup. Control arms were on the edge of failing. Getting that fixed was more important than bobbing around on a lake.Is the weather getting any better Jim? Get that float tube in some water!!
I found no difference, but then again I was working a schedule that contained alternate Monday /Fridays off. That worked out to two, two day weekends and two four day weekends per month. I spent lots of driving time Thursday night getting to my weekend destination so that I had three days fishing, including going to Yellowstone several “weekends” a year. I also had several years that I spent as much time living in my van as I did in my apartment.Congrats. I'd be interested in hearing what, if any, differences there've been for people who are retired between what you thought retirement would be like and what it's actually been like.
Good for you Steve. Congratulations.Today was the last frickin early work get up for my wife and me!!It hasn’t really sunk in yet because it feels like another summer school break....but September 1st....I’m going to set my alarm clock, break it and shout HA-HA! Think I fished a lot before.......
You'll certainly need a vacation if you're retired with a retired spouse....now that your work isn't an excuse for deferring a lot of household projects and tasks. An interesting question is, can you go on vacation when retired?
