Rain

Farmers Almanac 2025 - 2026 Winter Forecast

"Good news for skiers in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, because overall chilly and wet conditions are expected this winter. "The wet conditions obviously in the mountains are going to help that snow pack … (for) skiing," Duncan said."

There's a system starting up just east of Puerto Rico that looks like it might sweep up the coast and drench us pretty heavily .

Edit 15 Aug: @Canuck from Kansas, @VAGABOND, this might give us more rain in the coming days
Unlike yourself and @Canuck from Kansas neighborhood we’ve been forecast for biggly amounts and flooding, but the majority has followed the NE arc and moved around us. Basically a heavy mist with thunder. 🤏🏼
Did go back to NC for an eye check on the new lookers and was greeted with 2 days out of three with 90%+ humidity and rain. The day we left, Canuck’s old stomping grounds received 5+” of rain with water coming out of the storm drains instead of down there drains. I believe he’s happier now and I’m happier after comparing home owners insurance premiums.
You may have heard that it rained again there recently. A good friend, Capt. Horsley sent me an image of Nags Head yesterday morning. Surfing was popular the last couple of days also.

We had 1/2 of a day of rain, maybe an inch total since Sunday. Erin chickened out after beating the crap out of OBX and looks to be headed east. Last 2 days clear and sunny. Penns Creek between Arronsburg and Selinsgrove barely discolored and is at mostly summer lows. Buffalo Creek, Middle Creek, Little Juniata all seem to be in the same condition. Even the Susquehanna from Selinsgrove north to Williamsport seems pretty normal.
Lived in Charleston several times when a hurricane and or heavy TS came up the coast. Was also in Port Au Prince in 94 when they got hit. No thanks, that much rain is beyond stupid.

It was 76°F at 0530 when I got up this morning; thank goodness for A/C. It seems our iPhone weather app and Weather Underground overlooked clouds and light rain. Light rain! Nice. If it rained a little harder it might rinse all the dust accumulated on my truck.

This morning at 530am it was 78 in Union Gap, passing Zillah it popped up to 82 then in Sunnyside it dropped back to 75 its defiantly cloudy and looks like thunderstorms

Was pleasantly surprised to get some sprinkles today while out with the dog.

Bring it! 😉😂
It’s super muggy by western WA standards today. It feels like we could maybe get a thunderstorm. I hope so…
SF
Noooo... we do not need any more stinky fires...

Given that the 'old' farmers almanac and the farmers almanac both run around 50% accuracy, it literally is a coin toss...with their respective 'secret' formulas.
The CPC 90 day on the other hand runs a more respectable 80% accuracy last I looked.

Not sure how the old guy next to the cracker barrel runs for accuracy.
:)
